Creating my first gig offer

In this section we will show you how to create a gig offer so that you may start earning money on Popwork.

Where to start

To start, click on the Offers button in the Gigs section.

Popworker's home page

This will bring you to your offers. Once you create one, all your offers will be shown here. It is here you should come if you want to edit, delete or check out your gig offers. To add an offer, simply press the button on the bottom-right corner of the screen.

1. Choose a categorie

All gigs offers on Popwork are separated in different categories. This allows buyers to easily find a type of service that they might be looking for. Don't worry if your offer might not fit in one of the categories, you can always post it in the Others category.

You can see the categories here.

Below is the first screen you will face when setting up a new offer. Here you choose the category your offer will be in as well as the gig title and gig description. Try to be straightforward and sell yourself! For the sake of this example, our seller, John, is a photographer. So we will add an offer to the Entertainment & technologies -> Photography category.

2. Choose a distance

All offers on Popwork are only available to a certain area. In this next step, you will be asked to choose the area in which your offer will be visible. This means that you have to be able to go everywhere within the circle, so pick a range you are comfortable with. You can change the radius of the circle in the dropdown menu just below the map.

Choose a distance for your offer.

3. Create your packages

Packages are the price structure for selling services on Popwork. Packages allows you to position your services offering as you see fit. They allow you to offer different grades of services at different prices. Packages offers a few advantages:

Efficiency: The buyer can buy exactly what he needs in one click.

Freedom: It offers sellers the ability to position their offerings exactly how they want, at the price that they want.

Clarity: You are on the same page with the buyer when it comes to what is and what isn't included in the gig.

How do packages work ?

A package has many components, let's look into them.

Pricing model: A package's price can either be a fixed price or an hourly price.

Package Title: You can name your package whatever you want. For example, if you offer a service in 3 different grades you could name your packages: Basic, Standard and Premium.

Package description: A short description of what you offer in this package.

Price: The price of the package. If the pricing model is set to fixed, the price is the amount of money you will receive in exchange for this gig, minus the Popwork fees. If the pricing model is set to hourly, the price is the amount charged for every hour of work. The price can range from 5$ to 2000$.

Delivery: The amount of time the buyer should expect to wait before you deliver your gig. In the case of John, our photographer, buyers should expect at least 3 days before John can actually go to the address and start taking pictures. This allows the buyers the freedom to choose their sellers according to when they want the gig delivered. For example, you may charge an higher price for a package who has a shorter delivery.

Included: A bullet list with included features.

Each gig offer can have up to 8 packages, allowing you to position your services how you want them.

4. Set your questions (Optional)

Next, you will be asked if you want to ask some questions to potential buyers. When buyers make a booking request for your gig, they will have to answer all the questions you set. This reduces useless back-and-forth communication and allows you to respond to booking requests faster. This step is optional.

5. Choose pictures for your offer

Last but not least, you will need to choose one picture or more for your gig. This allows the buyers to get a visual reference of your skills. Think about using pictures of past work you are proud of. Make sure the lighting and resolution are looking good because pictures are very important for the overall appeal of your offer.

Once you're done simply click on Create offer.

6. You're all set.

You've just created your first gig offer, congratulations!

If you ever want to take an offer offline, just press on the green switch in the upper-right corner of your offer. When an offer is offline, it's no longer visible on Popwork.

Next up, we will show you how to manage your booking requests !
